A Winter Walk in the Glen

January 26, 2019 @ 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Glen Providence Park - main entrance
550 West State Street

Come out of hibernation for a walk in the park! Join native plant expert Marcia Tate and park history buff Stephanie Gaboriault as we explore Glen Providence Park in winter. We’ll highlight plants with winter interest, talk about how to identify them without their usual foliage and flowers, and discuss what we’ve planted as winter food for birds. We’ll also share some historical stories and photos of Glen Providence Park, and of course look for wildlife!

• Free!
• Meet at the main entrance at 550 W. State St., Media
• Rain, snow, or shine**
• Estimated distance: 1-1.5 miles
• Estimated time: 2 hours
• Be prepared for stream crossings, steep hills, and uneven (possibly icy or muddy) terrain: wear sturdy walking shoes, bring a hiking pole if you use one, and you never know when you’ll want binoculars!
• **Event is rain or shine, but if the weather is terrible – or in the event of high winds – we’ll post on our website and facebook by 11:00am on Saturday whether we will need to cancel.
