Have you ever looked at the winter browns (and white snow when we’re lucky!) outside wondering where everyone went? We’d love to show you! Join Friends of Glen Providence Park for a story about the winter woods, go on a little scavenger hunt, and learn how some of our wildlife neighbors spend their winter. The winter woods are very much alive!

The walk will be led by Julie Smith, a naturalist with a background in environmental geology – it is the first of four in a new Seasonal Children’s Series she will lead!

LOGISTICS:

  • Free!
  • Recommended for ages 4-8, but children of all ages are welcome (accompanied by an adult)
  • Registration limit of 10 children — registration by email is required
  • Meet at 1:00pm at the park’s main entrance — use 525 West State Street, Media for Google Maps
  • Estimated time: 45 minutes to 1 hour
  • Dress for the cold! Hot cider will be served, and we recommend bringing a blanket for the story portion.
  • Rain date Sunday, February 27 – if the weather is iffy, we will email registered participants that morning whether we will us the rain date.
