You make this possible
Hello, Friends!
Have you gone on a nature walk, attended a free summer concert, sat on the park’s new benches and enjoyed the newly planted native trees, followed a historical trail map, or read up on the history and wildlife of Glen Providence Park? Your support, with volunteer hours and with donations, makes it all possible!
We have not asked for donations since the summer of 2012 and it’s time to think about funding all the projects for 2014! We are a grassroots, all-volunteer organization, so your donation goes towards preserving and enhancing Glen Providence Park. We now have PayPal, making it convenient to make a donation of any size to support our work in Glen Providence Park.
Here are some highlights of our 2013 accomplishments:
– We presented a free Summer Concert Series, and we are planning more concerts for 2014.
– We had a great success at our volunteer days including planting 40 native trees and shrubs on National Public Lands Day– and we are already planning next year’s planting site.
– We continued our work to protect the park from the impact of the 3rd Street Project, and will continue to do so.
– We removed over 80 packed contractor bags of invasive plants from along the trails!
Check out the photos below of some of the past year’s activities, and you can browse our website and read our 2011-2012 Annual Report to learn more about our free monthly nature walks and events, Citizen Science projects, historical research, and more.
Please consider making a donation today to our 2013 Fundraising Campaign (click here)- all amounts are appreciated!
For everything you’ve done to support Glen Providence Park, we thank you!
With gratitude–
The Board of Friends of Glen Providence Park
